Photo Encaustics
Love photography but hate the glare of putting it behind glass? I have devised a way to display my photographic artwork without the hindrance of glass by using a technique that involves a beeswax medium called encaustics.
The art of using encaustics goes back to the ancient Greeks, who used this wax medium to preserve precious items. Encaustic medium is made of beeswax and damar resin which, when heated, melts and can be soaked into photos printed on cotton paper. I use this impermeable coating to add depth and luminosity to my fine art photography. Each image is then coated with cold wax and buffed to a luster shine. I adhere it to a wood panel and frame in a floater frame. Impervious to moisture it can be hung anywhere.
Intentional Camera Movement
As the name suggests, these images are created by intentionally moving the camera while using a long shutter speed. You really never know what you'll get but some of the resulting images I find to be so interesting.
Flowers
The intricacies of flowers fascinates me especially the textures of the petals and leaves. Sometimes these go unnoticed because of the brilliant colors. That's why I love to portray then in black and white. Now the beautiful structure of the flower is the main event. These images come matted for you convenience and have free shipping.
